WALK IN THE LIGHT.

Matthew 5:14
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

REFUGE STUDENTS
The teenage years are filled with questions, change, new independence, and voices competing for our students' attention. Refuge Students exists to give middle and high school students a place where they are known, loved, challenged, and continually pointed to Jesus.
Our heart is to partner with parents as students begin taking greater ownership of their faith, helping them know God's Word, develop a personal walk with Jesus, find godly community, and have the courage to walk in the light every day, no matter what they face.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
PIZZA + HANGOUT + Games
Come hungry! Students have time to eat, hang out with friends, play games, enjoy our Youth Room and simply enjoy being together. Sometimes competitive. Sometimes ridiculous. Always a good time.
WORSHIP
We want students to encounter Jesus for themselves. Each week, we create space for them to worship together and learn what it means to make worship part of their everyday lives.
THE WORD
We believe teenagers are capable of knowing and understanding the Bible. Rather than simply teaching topics, our students are taught through expository messages as they journey through books of the Bible: learning what Scripture says, what it means, and how it changes the way they live. Currently, our students are going through the book of John.
SMALL GROUPS
Students gather in age- and gender-specific groups with leaders who know them, love them, listen to them, and consistently point them toward Jesus. It's a place to ask honest questions, talk about real life, pray together, and be challenged to live out what they're learning.

MORE ABOUT
REFUGE STUDENTS:
THE YOUTH ROOM AT REFUGE
Refuge Students have a space at Refuge that they can truly call theirs.
Our Student Room was created as a place where teenagers can belong, build friendships, and actually want to hang out. With arcade games, ping-pong, pool, games, and plenty of room to have fun, there's always something happening.
There's also a comfortable lounge area where students can slow down, sit together, talk, laugh, and connect with friends and leaders.
And it's not just for Wednesday nights. The Student Room is open on Sunday mornings, giving our middle and high school students their own place to connect before and after worship.

MORE THAN WEDNESDAYS
Some of the best relationships are built simply by doing life together.
Throughout the year, Refuge Students have special Event Nights like Game Night, Friendsgiving, Christmas parties, and other opportunities that are simply about having fun and building community.
Our small groups also get outside the walls of Refuge. That might mean middle school boys spending a day at Six Flags, high school girls having a lock-in, or groups finding their own adventures throughout the year.

SUMMER CAMP
Summer Camp is one of the highlights of Refuge Students.
Students step away from their normal routines for a week filled with worship, biblical teaching, small groups, late-night conversations, ridiculous amounts of fun, and experiences they'll remember long after camp ends.
It's an opportunity to deepen friendships, grow in their relationship with Jesus, hear His voice without all the normal distractions, and create memories with their Refuge family that can last a lifetime.

REFUGE STUDENT LEADERS
Programs don't disciple students. People do.
That's why we're intentional about surrounding Refuge Students with adults who genuinely love teenagers, invest in their lives, pray for them, and consistently point them toward Jesus.
Our leaders aren't there simply to supervise a Wednesday night. We want students to have trusted adults in their corner who know their names, notice when they're missing, celebrate what's happening in their lives, listen when things are hard, and remind them of truth when they need it most.
The safety of our students is also incredibly important to us. Every Refuge Student leader undergoes a background check, and our Security Team is present each Wednesday evening to help provide a safe environment where students can simply focus on being students.

PARTNERING WITH OUR PARENTS
We believe parents have the greatest influence in the life and discipleship of their teenager, and our desire is never to replace that role. We want to come alongside you.
These years are important. Your teenager is beginning to make more decisions for themselves, ask deeper questions, form convictions, and determine what their own relationship with Jesus will look like.
Our prayer is to be another trusted voice pointing in the same direction you are:
Toward Jesus. Toward His Word. Toward the light.
Together, we want to raise a generation who doesn't simply know about Jesus because their parents brought them to church...but who knows Him personally, follows Him faithfully, and carries His light boldly into a generation desperately searching for hope.

CHURCH SHOULD BE FUN
Following Jesus is the greatest adventure of our lives—and we don't think church has to be boring.
Our Refuge Student leaders have been known to get a little creative. From original videos and ridiculous characters to lesson illustrations and unexpected surprises, our team loves finding memorable ways to reinforce biblical truth and make Wednesday nights something students look forward to.
