God Made all things

God is good and perfect. Everything He does is good and perfect because there is nothing wrong or evil in
Him. When God created the heavens and the earth He looked at everything He had made and said it was "very good" (Genesis 1:31). This is important because God did not create a broken or evil world. He created a world that was good and perfect just as He is. "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5). Everything God makes reflects His goodness and His perfect nature.

WE SINNED AGAINST GOD.
If God made all creation good and perfect then why is the world a broken place today? The answer is not God’s fault, but ours. Scripture teaches “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God is not the problem… we are! Further, “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Our sin has separated us from God and brought death into the world. The sin, brokenness, disease, and suffering we see around us is the result of humans doing things our way instead of God’s way.

JESUS LIVED THE PERFECT LIFE.
Our sin separated us from God. We could not get to Him because of our sin. So God came all the way to us. Jesus is God who became flesh and lived among us (John 1:14). Jesus lived the perfect human life that none of us could live. He never sinned and always obeyed the Father. “He made him to be sin who knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus was tempted in every way that we are, yet He remained without sin (Hebrews 4:15). Only Jesus can bridge the gap sin has created between God and humanity through His perfect obedience.

JESUS DIED FOR US
We deserved the punishment for our sin. Jesus did not. He was perfect and had never sinned. Yet He willingly took our place and died for our sins. “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3). Our sin was laid upon Him and He took the punishment that we deserved. “He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities” (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus became the sacrifice for us so that we could be forgiven. “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). He died in our place so that we could be brought back to God.

JESUS DEFEATED DEATH.
Sin brought death into the world. But Jesus came to defeat sin and death. He died for our sins and was buried. Then He rose from the grave. “He was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:4). Jesus did not stay in the grave. He conquered death and broke its power. “Death is swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54). Through His resurrection Jesus defeated sin, death, the grave, and the power of hell. His resurrection is our victory. Because Christ lives, those who belong to Him will also live (John 11:25). Jesus has won the victory and we can have eternal life in Him.

WE BELIEVE, CONFESS, AND REPENT.
Jesus did everything necessary to save us. He lived the perfect life we could not live. He died in our place for our sins. He defeated sin and death through His resurrection. Now we must respond to what He has done. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). To believe means we trust in Jesus and put our faith in Him. To confess means we openly acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). To repent means we turn away from our sin and turn to God. “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). We do not save ourselves. We trust in what Jesus has already done for us. When we believe, confess, and repent we receive the forgiveness and new life that Christ offers.

REFUGE
NO one is too far gone to find refuge in Christ.
You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus. Salvation isn't something we earn. It is the gift of God received by grace through faith.
