Mountaineers helps preschoolers take their next steps in understanding who God is, what He has done for us, and what it means to follow Jesus.

Children hear the same foundational Bible truths being taught to our Refuge Rangers, presented in a way designed specifically for preschool minds, attention spans, and development.

We don't believe preschoolers are too young to learn the Gospel.

We want them to know that the Bible is true, God made them and loves them, Jesus came to rescue sinners, and they can trust Him.

And we believe learning about Jesus should be filled with joy.

That's why a Sunday in Mountaineers includes Bible teaching, singing, hands-on activities, conversation, play, and plenty of opportunities to move.

Each week, children will:

WORSHIP
Sing songs that help them learn about God and celebrate Him.

LEARN THE GOSPEL
Review simple Gospel truths week after week so God's story begins taking root in their hearts.

HEAR THE BIBLE
Listen to an engaging, age-appropriate Bible lesson that connects with what our Refuge Rangers are learning

DO
Complete a hands-on activity that reinforces the day's lesson.

PLAY
Enjoy our very own indoor play area where preschoolers can climb, move, laugh, and get those wiggles out!

Children respond to repetition and are able to retain information if it is presented often with visual and auditory prompts.  At Refuge, our desire is for all of our kids, no matter the age, to understand and retain the beautiful Gospel of Jesus.  In Mountaineers, our children review these five Gospel Points each week:

GOD RULES:  God made everything perfect. (Genesis 1:31)

WE SINNED: We are the ones who messed up God's perfect plan. (Romans 3:23)

GOD PROVIDED: Jesus died for our sins so we could be saved. (John 3:16)

JESUS GIVES: Jesus gives new life. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

WE RESPOND: If we believe the good news of Jesus, we receive life for forever! (Romans 10:9)

Mountaineers is primarily designed for potty-trained preschoolers, typically ages 4–5.

We have a careful system in place for children who need to use the restroom during service. Our Serve Team follows established safety procedures while helping children maintain appropriate privacy and independence.

First-time families will enter their information through our Refuge Kids Check-In system. Families receive matching security labels for their child, belongings, and parent/guardian.

Please keep your parent label with you for secure pickup.
If your child needs you during the service, your assigned family number will appear on the screen.

Our goal is bigger than keeping preschoolers entertained for an hour. We want to begin building a biblical foundation they can carry with them as they grow.

We pray our Mountaineers begin to understand:
God made me.
God loves me.
The Bible is true.
Jesus is our Rescuer.
I can trust and follow Him.
