Refuge Rangers is designed to help elementary-aged kids discover the big story of Scripture and begin building a faith of their own. Using The Gospel Project and What’s in the Bible?, Rangers journey from Genesis to Revelation over a three-year period—learning that every book, every story, and every page of Scripture ultimately points us to Jesus.

Each month, our Rangers explore a book of the Bible, learning important facts about the book, why it matters, and where it fits into the story of Scripture. More importantly, they learn to look for the Gospel throughout the entire Bible and understand how God’s plan of redemption points us to Jesus.

Along the way, kids learn a monthly memory verse, participate in small-group conversations, and discover how what they learn on Sunday can shape the way they live all week long.

Every child receives their own Ranger Field Guid: a fun, hands-on way to encourage them as they grow in their knowledge of God and put their faith into action.

Rangers complete sections of their Field Guide by:

-Memorizing the monthly Scripture
-Participating in small-group discussions
-Reading their Bible throughout the week
-Completing service and kindness missions
-Learning the books of the Bible
-Growing in biblical knowledge
-Putting what they learn into practice

As they complete challenges and fill their Field Guide, kids work toward becoming an Official Refuge Ranger!
But the goal is bigger than completing a guide or earning an incentive. We want our kids to develop habits that will remain long after they leave Refuge Kids, a love for God’s Word, a heart for serving others, and a faith that follows Jesus into everyday life.

Our three-year journey through Scripture means that a child who grows through Refuge Rangers has the opportunity to travel through the entire Bible twice before entering middle school.

Our prayer is that when our Rangers move into Refuge Students, they won't simply know individual Bible stories. They'll understand the story of the Bible: who God is, what He has done, how the Gospel runs through it all, and what it means for their own lives.

We aren't simply teaching kids the Bible. We're teaching them how to know it, love it, and live it.

Every Refuge Rangers gathering is filled with movement, fun, worship, biblical teaching, and meaningful connection. While every Sunday may look a little different, Rangers can expect:

WELCOME + FREE TIME
Kids get settled in, connect with friends, play indoor Gaga Ball, or spend time at our coloring and craft table.

OPENING GAME
We kick things off together with a fun, high-energy game that gets everyone involved.

WORSHIP
Rangers worship together as we help them learn what it means to praise Jesus and make worship part of their own relationship with Him.

LEARN THE BIBLE
Through engaging teaching, videos, and activities, kids explore the Bible story for the day and discover how it fits into the bigger story of Scripture—and how it all points to Jesus.

RANGER GROUPS
Kids gather in age- and gender-specific small groups where leaders help them talk through what they've learned, ask questions, and apply God's Word to their everyday lives.

FIELD GUIDE CHECK-IN
Rangers pull out their Field Guides to celebrate progress, check off completed challenges, review memory verses, and work toward their next Ranger milestone.

Our goal is for kids to leave every Sunday having had fun, been known and encouraged by a leader, and learned something about God's Word they can carry with them all week.
